If No One Sees It
01:51
|
|
||
I only smoke to be judged, not because I’m cool and I need it.
I only sing to be judged by you, myself, everyone.
What’s the point of doing anything if no one sees it?
I only smoke, only drink, only dance, only sing, only pay, only say, only wear, what I can to be seen. What’s the point of doing anything if no one sees it? If no one sees it what’s the point of doing anything at all?

Diamond Shades
04:39
|
|

His diamond shades, dry Tanqueray
Fortunes of mud in my face
Cause my heart don't taste of paper flakes
My network is all out of line
Yellow in your eye, concrete in my spine
I breathed in, sucked up the lies
I'm just a fool lost on the grid
And I'm turning, I gotta tear it down
Represent
What you want, what you say are different
What you want, you'll trap and steal
Represent, I'm falling to the ground
What you want, what you feel are different
My citizens, my head demons
My morphine, I can't put it down
No speech, no sight, no touch, no sound
Tastless, I gotta tear you down
Represent
What you want, what you say are different
What you want, you'll trap and steal
Represent, I'm falling to the ground
What you want, what you feel are different

Separate Pages
04:52
|
|
||
I fell cold from the scene on the road outside, and it would take its toll. There was a time that together we read every line.
Now the novel grows long, and the pages they fold out.
Who would have known it would take us so long?
The subtle future and the home we had sown.
I’m no martyr there were whistles to blow, but where were you?
Unkempt caves at both settlements would set the tone.
The decorations: a tin man.
Young advances never aim to keep things set in stone.
On shaking ground, shifting plates, the pages fold out.
Who would have known it would take us so long?
The subtle future and the home we had sown.
I’m no martyr there were whistles to blow but where were you?
I was waiting for the reason, but it just wasn’t the right season.
Plus we made plans for that evening. My flights were booked.
I was leaning on our furniture and our felines, all the picture frames that took so much time to hang.
Need I explain? This phase is a cage that I would break out to save some face, but can we save ourselves?
Flipping through the pages isn’t always the way to misread the words printed.
It’s what gets read over and over that leave us illiterate.
Attentions shifted from the story unfolding like Rome, and holding on to the words like a loved one come home.
A crumbling ledge made of stone over a pit only make eyes roam further away from the manuscript, and plot holes become so clear.
Far be it from truth to deny that they don’t ruin the story for you.
Same book separate page.
Same eyes separate gaze.
Same boat separate wave.
Same book separate page.

This Is a Coliseum
02:56
|
|
||
I’ve seen enough of this.
All my blueprints stacking up: hide secrets for a cut.
These lecture halls once filled me with applause.
They’re all manikins in strip-malls holding me accountable.
How can we rejoice in song without a place that we can call our own?
This is a coliseum dressed as a community: the lions keep to themselves. What does the plane see? Look at your own street.
Engine blocks roam free and nothing’s made for you and me.
How can we rejoice in song without a place that we can call our own?
This isn’t about crime and Rome. This is finding home outside of home.
All these materials for building up walls, four walls.
Are these places just postcards: stunning and false?
Oh my brother, my neighbour, my blacksmith, and author.
Oh my preacher, where art thou? Come out! Come out!
See how we sing.

Toolbox Baby
04:50
|
|
||
Baby, darling, doll-face, hunny, love of mine.
Why’d you let him treat you so unkind?
This is much more now than you and him combined.
An international dispute this time.
The truth is inconvenient. In his eyes all I read are lies.
What’s slipping from his teeth is much too sweet this time.
He loves you on the phone. Call, nobody’s home.
Grinning cause the record’s broken. It’s getting broken.
So separate yourself now, five degrees at a time.
And show him what it means to burn alive.
He treats you like a tool box baby, your actions well obliged.
How could we ever blame you? Swing your scythe.
The truth is inconvenient. In his eyes all I read are lies.
What’s slipping from his teeth is much too sweet this time.
He loves you on the phone. Call, nobody’s home.
Grinning cause the record’s been broken all along.
Change all your locks and sever your ties.
Good-bye to his siren song lullabies. Scatter your seed.
t’s not him who you need, it’s him who needs you.
Taking your money, eating grapes from your vine, so you don’t stop.
You give too much sunshine, so you don’t stop.
He’s taking your money, eating grapes from your vine so you don’t ever stop. You give too much sunshine so you don’t stop running. Don’t you stop running away.

Colours Attractive
04:49
|
|
||
Separate me, rejuvenate me
Soma in dismay
Re-create us, retrograde
Soma in dismay, circus clouds of faith
Trying to peer in closer and closer
Car city clowns are shaking the ground oh
Iris minded, distracted, colours attractive
Sit and listen, thinking
Rhythm pulsing through my eyelids
My lips rustle
Arbutus skin lady
Are you this skin lately?
Tearing shades of purple
Finally fell in circle
Trying to peer in closer and closer
Car city clowns are shaking the ground oh
Iris minded, distracted, colours attractive
Come clean me, my lady
Take me and bleach me away
I'm still dreaming

Vultures
03:40
|
|
||
Out there, out past the woods
Over mountains and through my window
I wonder, cause underneath it all
I'm just a vulture on the sprawl
Out there, out there past the trees, over rock
With all my seeds
I wonder how I'm just a vulture on the sprawl
Cause I don't, I don't, I don't
I don't, I don't think that I can see I don't
I don't, I don't think that I can see clearly
Nearly, nearly every fucking day it seems
It seems, it seems every fucking day I choke
I wonder how I'm just a vulture on the sprawl
Cause I don't, I don't, I don't
I don't, I don't think that I can see I don't
I don't, I don't think that I can see clearly
Nearly, nearly every fucking day it seems
It seems every fucking day I bleed
